ENG 3203.01 Advanced Grammar
and Composition. Catalog Description: "Concentration
on the basic terminology and procedures of English grammar,
rhetoric, and composition, with intensive practice.
Prerequisites: Nine hours of English. Three lecture hours
a week. Credit: Three hours." Required textbooks:

We will not have required readings from a handbook, but for
reference purposes only, you should also purchase or have access
to a traditional English handbook such as
The Bedford Handbook (7th edition) by Diana Hacker
(Bedford/St. Martins, 2006. ISBN:
978-0312419332
).
This class will be taught in the
traditional lecture and group discussion format and will include
in-class writing opportunities. The class meets on
Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. in ASB 303.

Description:
"Analysis
of fiction, poetry, and drama, using representative historical
periods and contemporary texts. Focus on literary history,
schools of criticism, literary terminology, genres, principles
of analysis with intensive writing practice. Prerequisites: Nine
hours of English. Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three
